We are seeking submissions for SAP, our Supplementary Artist Program!
To meet our client demand for local work from local artists, SAP aims to feature emerging artists from Manitoba¹ in our gallery for a limited engagement. This mutual experiment provides artists with gallery exposure and art business mentorship while building on our mandate to support Canadian artists.
TO SUBMIT, please e-mail us with your name, a link to your website² and a letter of intention outlining your interest in this program and why you think you would be a great fit. We will not review images or documents at this time.
If we are interested, we will contact you within six months of submission. Please be prepared with as much of the following information³ as you can: artist biography and résumé, artist statement, list of available works, high resolution images, contact information and a price list or a record of previous sales.
Woodlands Gallery will provide gallery curated real-estate for exhibition of your artwork as well as the promotion of your work to our established client base utilizing our web properties, email and social media in addition to marketing the works in the gallery and in private communication. The selected artist(s) will also receive art business mentorship, from gallery director Jennifer DeLury.
Any sales generated from the result of the exhibition will be divided between the gallery and artist. SAP is a mutually beneficial opportunity for possible sales and cross-promotion. It will be an experiment in relationship building and requires a limited commitment from you. Who knows what the future with Woodlands Gallery might bring?
Established in 1984, Woodlands Gallery is a commercial art gallery in Winnipeg, Manitoba; enthusiastic about the artwork and artists we represent and eager to help clients build collections of fine art. We represent an engaging selection of contemporary works by a talented group of emerging and established Canadian artists.
¹ For SAP we are only seeking submissions from artists that reside within Manitoba.
² If you do not have a website, please send a description of your style and process along with only TWO images of recent works.
³ Having all of the above information is not a requirement for acceptance, however it will give us a better idea of where you are in your artistic career and in what areas you may benefit from mentorship.
