Melissa Jean

Melissa Jean began painting professionally shortly after moving to Kenora, Ontario and starting a family. She paints out of her studio as well as “en plein air” around Lake of the Woods. Working from memory and sketches, her work is a direct reflection of the lake and its surrounding landscape.

Using a vivid colour palette and textured canvases, Jean’s work transports us to the lake on a warm Summer evening, capturing precious moments by the campfire, canoeing on calm waters, and walking along the beach.

Jean’s work is represented in galleries across Canada.
