Woodlands Gallery is pleased to present our eighth SAP* exhibition artist, Brandi Shabaga, and her latest collection of paintings in SAP: Flora Form.
Brandi Shabaga is a contemporary mixed media artist and earth scientist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her research has taken her across the globe – from the Canadian Arctic to the Gobi Desert – fueling her passion for adventure and supplying endless inspiration for her artwork.
In this series, Shabaga is drawn to the abundant diversity of colours, forms and textures that flora has to offer. Her vibrant still life arrangements burst forth from minimal, geometric planes and line drawings into 3 dimensional blooms over textured backgrounds. Working with acrylics and mixed media, she melds together influences of pop and graphic arts with a loose, abstract expressionistic painting style offering bold celebrations of Flora.
Interlaced and on display with this exhibition of florals, are selected pieces from Shabaga’s previous collections exploring the natural world.
