SAP: Late bloomer
Realistic graphite drawings by Hollande Bezan
March 8 – March 22, 2025
Woodlands Gallery is pleased to present, “Late bloomer,” an exhibition of drawings by Hollande Bezan, our eleventh SAP* exhibition artist.
Hollande Bezan is an emerging artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Working mainly in graphite, her drawings are inspired by enigmatic everyday objects and scenes that collectively capture lived experiences. Through emotions ranging from humour to nostalgia, her works tell stories of the textures, ties, and affective patterns that give meaning to modern day life.
In this body of work Bezan reflects on the significance of memorabilia, daily rituals, and the sacred moments that shape our identity. Her realistic and greyscale drawings depict scenes of quiet contemplation, where poignant thoughts and fruitful aspirations stir.
Bezan earned her BFA with Honours at University of Manitoba in 2015. Her work has been exhibited at MAWA (Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art), The Edge Urban Art Gallery, and La maison des artistes Visuels.
Please join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 8th from 1pm to 4pm. Light refreshments will be served and the artist will be in attendance.
*Our Supplementary Artists Program (SAP) features contemporary emerging artists from Manitoba for a limited engagement, providing them with gallery exposure and building on our mandate to support Canadian artists. This program also gives our clientele the opportunity to survey and purchase work from local artists who are not (or not yet) on our roster of artists.
